Why Indian History The Most Fascinating In The World:
India is a large country located in Asia. It is a country blessed with picturesque landscapes and cultural diversity. To add a jewel to its crown, India has the most fascinating history in the world. Let’s check out the facts about Indian history that prove that it is the most interesting:

1) Indus Valley Civilisation- the oldest civilisation

Indus valley civilisation is one of the earliest urban civilisation. It is also called Harrapan Civilisation. It flourished around 2,500 BC. People lived in well-designed towns and houses with proper roads and drainage system. Trade also used to take place at that time.

2) First International University- Taxila

Next, Taxila had the world’s first international university in 700 BC. More than 60 subjects were a part of the curriculum of the university. It had thousands of foreign students from countries like Greece, Syria and China. Thus, the concept of a proper university was the gift of India.

3) Invasion of Mughals in India

The Mughals started ruling India from 1526 under the leadership of Babur. Akbar, his grandson is the greatest Mughal rulers of all times. Mughals developed the art and architecture of India. Mughals constructed many historical monuments. Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and Taj Mahal are few of them.

4) India- the old sone ki chidiya

India was very wealthy before the invasion of Britishers. Known as sone ki chidiya at that time. India’s wealth drew the eyeballs of Christopher Columbus. He was coming to India via sea route when he discovered America.

5) Britishers ruled over India for 200 years

Britishers came to India for trading at Surat, Gujarat. In the meantime, Britishers become rulers and started exploiting Indian people. They ruled over India for about 200 years. Indians fought hard for their freedom. Revolt of 1857, Quit India Movement, Jallianwala Bagh massacre glorify India’s history.

6) Ayurveda- A miracle from India

Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine originated in India about 5,000 years ago. Many countries follow Ayurveda. Ayurvedic medicine focuses on herbal remedies, healthy diet and physical exercise. Ayurveda has a cure for many serious ailments.

7) Indians invented chess and Snake and Ladders

India gave this world many unique inventions. The game of Chess is one of them, Snakes and Ladders, a popular board game also originated in ancient India. This board game taught children that ladders stand for good deeds that help you move up. And snakes signify evil deeds which pull you down in life.

8) Yoga- the secret to fitness

Yoga originated in India 5,000 years ago. ‘Yoga’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj.’  It means ‘to join’ or ‘to unite.’ Yoga maintains a perfect balance between body and mind.  

9) Indians were great mathematicians too!

Mathematical concepts like algebra, trigonometry and calculus came from India. The place value system and decimal system were also discovered in India. Thus, Indians were a pioneer in maths also.

10)  Say thanks to India for a good hair day

If you are having a good hair day, credit goes to India. ‘Shampoo’ comes from the Hindi word ‘champo.’ Indians introduced shampooing hair using natural herbs.

11) Sanskrit- Mother of all languages

The mother of all languages is the Sanskrit language. It belongs to the Indo-European languages family. It is the oldest language on the Earth. All kinds of ancient literature such as Vedas and Upanishads are in Sanskrit.

12) India gave birth to popular religions

Religions like Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism were born in India. These religions constitute 25% of the world’s population.

Finally, we conclude that no country has a marvellous history as compared to India. Indian history is the most fascinating in the entire world.
